Free Early Education Entitlement 3 & 4 YOs

Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE)

Available at all Daisy Chain Childcare Settings

All 3 and 4 year old children are able to receive 570 annual hours of free childcare. This can be taken for a minimum of 38 weeks, which would equate to 15 hours a week or can be stretched across 51 weeks. Children are entitled to a maximum of 10 hours per day.

Children become eligible from the term following their 3rd birthday, up until compulsory school age (the term after their fifth birthday).

  • Parents can choose how the FEEE is allocated at Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) nursery settings up to a maximum of 2 providers It is no longer calculated on a pro-rata split.  Parents will be asked to give information each term on how they want any split of FEEE funding between settings. Funding to school nurseries (including school academies) will still be given priority over the Private, Voluntary and Independent (PVI) providers.
  • If you choose to attend a private setting and a school nursery in the Leeds area, the school nursery will take priority over the private setting and they will receive the FEEE funding.

Daisy Chain Childcare offers a high standard of education equivalent to that offered by school nurseries and we can claim FEEE on your behalf. This is then pro-rated into 12 equal monthly payments, which results in a reduction in your monthly nursery fees.

Further information and advice regarding FEEE can be obtained from The Family Information Service:
