Our staff teams follow a ‘settling-in’ process to ensure you and your child experience a happy, smooth and positive transition into nursery.
Prior to your child’s first visit we will ask you to complete a “Getting to Know You” booklet. This will help your child’s assigned key person understand your child’s needs from the start and help you and your child settle in with us. Our settling sessions also allow us to get to know your child’s likes and dislikes, special requirements, preferred routines, how your child likes to be comforted, favourite activities stories and songs etc. This will help your child’s key person tailor activities to suit your child’s interests from the very beginning.
Our aim is to ensure your first few months at Daisy Chain are as personal and seamless as possible.
You are invited to stay with your child for the first settling-in session. This will help your child to get to know their new surroundings and their key person, whilst still having you nearby. Together we will build up your child’s confidence and you will be able to leave your child for short periods, building up the length of stay to a full session.
We will provide you with a ‘Welcome’ booklet for each age group; babies, toddlers and pre-school children. The Welcome booklet includes information about the staff team, the routines of the room, an overview of our curriculum and other details to help you during this settling-in period. You will receive this information each time your child moves rooms to ensure each transition is as positive as possible for you and your child.
Children can start Daisy Chain at any age from birth up to starting school. The settling-in process is the same for all age groups.
Our classes are as follows:-
