My career started back in 1992 when my own children started school and I helped out hearing children read. The Teacher convinced me to go to college and complete my NNEB which I did and have never looked back, I just love working with children.
I have had a range of early years Jobs. I began working as a Nursery Nurse on a Children’s Ward, I then worked in reception/year one classes in local primary schools. I have been the Deputy Manager and Manager of the College Nursery at Keighley. I then moved on to set up and manage a Children’s Centre Nursery which I did successfully for 12 years. My previous post was to reopen and manage a Day Nursery for a Nursery chain which I have happily done for the past 3 years.
During this time, I have attended various courses to enhance my own skills and knowledge and I am proud to have achieved my BA Early Years Studies Degree in 2012.
I am also an NVQ Assessor and really enjoy working with the staff team supporting and ‘growing them’ to be the best practitioners that they can possibly be.
I believe that all children should be at the heart of everything we do and look forward to supporting them to learn through play in our exciting learning environment.
