Daisy Chain Childcare Rothwell achieved an OUTSTANDING Ofsted rating in 2019
Daisy Chain Childcare at Rothwell is a homely, friendly nursery based within the grounds of Cockburn Haigh Road academy. The nursery rooms are well resourced and equipped catering for the individual needs of children. The premises are designed to cater to young children’s needs with features that actively encourage the development of personal skills. Because we believe children learn best through play, all resources are freely available at child height, encouraging independent play and self-choice.
There are four childcare rooms; a baby unit (Pixies), two toddler rooms (Imps & Sprites) and a pre-school classroom (Elves).
There is daily access to outdoor play in the colourful and inviting play area and garden where the children can grow their own fruit and vegetables to encourage healthy eating. Outdoor play is available for all ages on the soft safety surface complete with climbing frame and play apparatus. Play areas have been created to offer little ones challenges and fun, they include a digging pit, bike area, story corner and a separate baby area.
Our well qualified staff team all share a love of working with children and follow a programme of continuous personal development. Each child has a dedicated key person who provides daily feedback on children’s progress and development.
Our on-site qualified cook provides delicious, nutritious, well-balanced meals on a 5 weekly rolling menu using local suppliers. We are proud holders of a 5 Star Food Hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency (last inspected February 2020).
Daisy Chain Childcare was the first private day care company to be accredited with a GOLD award with the Leeds Quality Assurance scheme in 2005, an award endorsed by the Investors in Children Kite Mark. Daisy Chain Childcare received the Investors in People accreditation in 2011.
Our Rothwell nursery is open from 8:00 – 6:00 Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year (except bank holidays)
Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and all snacks. For babies we provide nappies/wipes, pureed food and cow’s milk. Parents to provide formula milk.

Hello, I’m Helen Stoner and the Manager of Daisy Chain Childcare at Rothwell.
I started working in childcare in 1995, starting as an apprentice and gradually working my way into management roles. I have worked for Daisy Chain Childcare since it opened in 2002 and have held several roles within the company since then including previously being the Manager of Rothwell. I have attended many training courses over the years and extended the wealth of my knowledge, and this included a Level 4 Qualification. I have 2 children of my own that both attended Daisy Chain, and this is why it is so important to me that we provide a safe, warm, stimulating environment for the children.
The Rothwell team works hard to ensure we provide the best care possible for those important early years.
