08 Apr Ofsted rate Daisy Chain Lofthouse as ‘GOOD’ in all aspects
Education watchdogs, Ofsted, have declared that Daisy Chain Childcare is GOOD in every aspect of service. The nursery, established in 2008, provides nursery education and care to children and families in the Lofthouse area.
The Ofsted inspection report states:
“The well-qualified staff provide a wide range of activities that promote children’s learning.”
“Staff play skillfully alongside children…this helps children develop the key skills needed to be ready for school.”
“Children are confident and settle easily due to the close bonds and secure relationships established with staff.”
“Partnerships with parents are highly effective.”
Julie Spalding, Nursery Manager said, “during an Ofsted visit, the inspector will consider how well the nursery team meets the needs of children, how we contribute to the children’s well-being and the caliber of our leadership and management. We are all delighted with this fantastic outcome, it’s good to know that our contribution to giving children the best start in life is valued and reflected in the report. We believe the secret to our success is that we understand children learn best when they are having fun and so our curriculum is entirely based around play and children’s interests.”
The nursery is purpose-built and set within Lofthouse Children’s Centre. Facilities include a fully equipped sensory room, community room and gardens. Children have their own garden plots where they can grow fruit and vegetables to encourage healthy eating. French and music sessions are also included in the service.
