Daisy Chain Pre-school Nursery at Middleton est 2014
The Pre-school & Nursery
Daisy Chain Pre-School at Middleton is our centre of excellence for funded 2, 3 and 4 year olds. We renovated the William Gascoigne Community Centre, a place no longer in use that had previously been a well-loved hub of the local community. The centre was transformed to create a vibrant, well-resourced pre-school where children can play and learn. One of the challenges we faced was transforming a large space into a welcoming environment that wouldn’t be daunting to a young child. Parental feedback confirms that we have created a unique, friendly and welcoming learning environment with well-spaced activity areas, designed to help little ones feel safe and secure.
Daisy Chain Pre-school has lots of fun things to do
There are three childcare rooms; new children (Imps), 2 year olds (Sprites) and 3 & 4 year olds (Elves), which is our pre-school classroom.
Daisy Chain Middleton Pre-school is well resourced
Each childcare room has direct access to its own outdoor play area with lots of exciting, challenging activities including mud kitchens, pebble pits, soft play, construction and garden areas.
For quieter moments we have a sensory room and a hand made Mongolian Yurt, providing enclosed, cosy spaces ideal for story time or music and movement sessions.
Snack/meal times are a social occasion, encouraging independence wherever possible. Parents provide their child with a packed lunch if their session is across the lunchtime period. We provide freshly prepared snack, catering for individual needs with a varied and nutritional menu including dishes from around the world. Local suppliers provide our fresh fruit/vegetables and dairy products.
Funded places at Middleton Pre-school
Following on from the success of providers offering Free Early Education Entitlement (FEEE) for all three and four year olds, the Government is offering the same entitlement for two year olds who meet the eligibility criteria. The provision of FEEE enables all eligible two-year-old children to receive 570 hours each year of free childcare. This is equivalent to 15 hours each week (term time only).
