Early Years at Daisy Chain — What It Means for Your Child
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework sets the national standards for care, learning, and development for all children from birth to five. At Daisy Chain, we follow the EYFS to ensure every child has a strong foundation for their future.

Our Approach (Pedagogy)
A play based and seasonal curriculum places children at the centre of learning, following their interests and natural curiosity. We support their learning as it happens, extending their learning through the wonder of the world around them.
We observe children’s play and interactions then create “invitations to play” which build on children’s interests and existing skills and knowledge.
In following this approach and through quality interactions, we nurture the whole child, supporting their body, mind, and emotions as they grow and learn.
At Daisy Chain we are committed to supporting children in becoming confident, sociable, and independent learners, who leave us ready to take on the next challenge of school.
We refer to Birth to Five Matters framework (non-statutory) to support the delivery of our curriculum and monitor children’s learning and progression.

Wellbeing / Key Person
Children’s wellbeing is essential for them to lead healthy, happy lives and is fundamental to their cognitive development.
Behind their personal development is a secure caregiver-child relationship. Every child is allocated a key person, a dedicated practitioner who builds a strong, trusting relationship with both you and your child and ensuring your child feels safe, valued, and understood.
They observe your child’s interests and development, planning an environment that nurtures learning, they will share regular updates with you so we can celebrate achievements together.
